Building Stronger Communities

The Wharfedale Foundation, England, Leeds
Yorkshire and Humber, £10.00

The Wharfedale Foundation is celebrating 10 years of providing small grants to organisations across Yorkshire and the Humber that build and strengthen communities by breaking down barriers and facilitating the integration of marginalised groups. The projects we have funded over the last 10 years have been instrumental in addressing divisions within our society by cultivating a greater appreciation of the importance of social justice and diversity.

For this special milestone, we will have two guest speakers who are familiar with the issues faced by those supported through our grants programme over the last decade (poverty, marginalisation, lack of social inclusion and the need for a safe refuge) and can highlight the challenges facing the voluntary and community sector in the next ten years.
– David Warner – Social Change and Strategic Philanthropy Consultant, currently supporting the second phase of the Civil Society Futures independent report enquiry
– Reverend Dr. Inderjit Bhogal OBE – theologian and Methodist minister, founder and President of City of Sanctuary movement
with, Bradford Friendship Choir
